To study as an inbound exchange student at U of T, you must first be nominated by one of our partner institutions. You cannot apply to us directly. If your home institution is one of our exchange partners, please contact the exchange office at your home institution for details about application procedures and deadlines.
How Do I Apply?
Apply to Home Institution
The first step in applying for exchange is to contact your home institution’s exchange office. You will first need to complete their application.
Your exchange application begins with nomination by your home institution. At the time of nomination, your home institution will select the U of T campus and faculty for your exchange. Your home institution then provides us with this information for our approval. It is very important to select the appropriate faculty and campus when applying/being nominated as this cannot be changed later.
U of T Exchange Application
Once nominated, students are required to apply for exchange via our online student application portal.
The online application opens annually in January for the upcoming academic year (September – April). If you have been nominated by your home institution, apply for exchange through our Mobility Online portal.
Carefully follow the instructions on Student Application Instructions to ensure you submit a complete application.
