Maria-Cristina’s Story

University College London

Exchange Student At The Faculty Of Arts & Science (St. George Campus), 2019-2020

What surprised you about U of T or Toronto?

I was positively surprised by all the support that UofT gives its students: from the multitude of co-curricular activities designed to teach important skills, such as academic writing or statistics, to their amazing career events.

How do you think your U of T exchange experience will benefit your future studies or career?

The careers services and writing programs were very helpful. They helped me get better insights into what the job market expects from graduates and taught me how to present myself and my skills. Additionally, being a student at UofT gave me the opportunity to meet people from multiple educational and cultural backgrounds and helped me become more adaptable.

Did you join any clubs at U of T?

I had the opportunity to participate in multiple events organized by the Chemistry Students’ Union (CSU). They were very well-organized, and the students were very nice and welcoming.

“The main reason I wanted to study at uoft was because of its academic excellence. I was positively surprised by all the support that uoft gives its students: from the multitude of co-curricular activities designed to teach important skills such as academic writing or statistics to their amazing career events.”
