The Study Elsewhere of Less Commonly Taught (SELECT) Languages Fund

The SELECT Languages Program contributes funding towards graduate students requiring a good working knowledge of a language not regularly taught at U of T, for the purposes of their research, the opportunity to do so by studying that language at another institution.

Funds are awarded to individual graduate students through a competitive process overseen by the SELECT Languages Advisory Committee. Priority will be given to students at the Ph.D. level applying to this fund for the first time, and to students in the early stages of their doctorate research.

Requirements: Graduate Student only, Ph.D. students in the early stages of their research will be given preference. Cannot have received a SELECT more than twice, language of study must not be available at UofT (St. George, UTM or UTSC campuses).
