Summer School Exchange: University of Liverpool

The University of Liverpool is a dynamic, welcoming institution and a member of the prestigious Russell Group (representing 24 of the UK’s leading research universities). Located in the beautiful port city of Liverpool, this university is part of the fastest growing economy outside of London and with more galleries and green spaces than any other city outside of London.

Credit Equivalency
120 credits = 5.0 UofT credits. Students will complete 15 (0.5 FTE) or 30 (1.0 FTE) local credits.

Course Availability
You can study with the International Summer School for a period of either three or six weeks. You will choose three modules to study during each three-week period. Choose from a range of academic modules that can incorporate field trips, group work and experiential learning. Topics include Intercultural Leadership, Global Marketing, History, Sustainable Development and much more. Please find more information here.

Fees
Summer tuition (equivalent to taking 0.5 FCE or 1.0 FCE U of T course) is paid to U of T. Tuition fees at the University of Liverpool will be waived, but University of Toronto students must pay the accommodation fees listed here.

Please note, this is a Summer School Exchange option. In a Summer School Exchange, each host institution allocates a limited number of spots for U of T students, and the Centre for International Experience (CIE) selects students to fill these spaces. You apply through Mobility Online and are selected internally by CIE. If chosen, you will be formally nominated to the host institution for their summer program. Spaces are limited and not guaranteed.

Fees
Nominated students must pay the tuition & incidental fees to U of T by the Summer Payment Deadline.  You can find the summer tuition information on the Fees & Payments page. While tuition is paid to U of T, you are still responsible for additional costs as specified by the host institution, such as housing, excursions, and administrative fees. You will also be responsible for the cost of flights, visas (if applicable) and other general cost of living while abroad.

Students will be eligible to apply for the needs-based IE Award.

Transfer Credit
Exchange students must have their courses formally pre-assessed and approved for transfer credit before their departure. CIE Learning Abroad will send instructions on this process once you are selected.
