University of Toronto’s partner – Cultural Vistas (CV) is a non-profit J-1 visa sponsor that can assist students to obtain J-1 visas to intern in the USA via the Exchange Visitor Program (EVP). Most students who wish to intern in the USA need to work with a visa sponsor before their arrival in the US. CV works both with the student and the host company to ensure that all parties are eligible to participate in the EVP and provides support throughout the duration of the program. University of Toronto students are eligible for special fee rates for Cultural Vistas services. Please note: students must have already received an internship offer prior to applying for CV; CV does not provide placements.

Application process:
Students can begin the application process online. Once the initial application has been submitted, CV will contact the host company with an application to complete as well. If deemed eligible for sponsorship, Cultural Vistas will issue the necessary sponsorship documents, and guide the parties through the subsequent steps.

To benefit from the reduced fees offered to U of T students through our partnership with Cultural Vistas, you must complete the pre-departure requirements prior to traveling for your internship. By applying to Cultural Vistas, you acknowledge that your information will be shared with U of T for processing and follow-up as needed.
