Since its establishment back in the late 19th Century, Waseda University strives to nurture brilliant leaders capable of taking a leading role in a global society. Waseda is a university with a dynamic movement towards the evolution of a global institution, offering precious experiences and memories unattainable anywhere else. Students have taken courses here in East Asian Studies, International Relations, and Commerce.

Requirements are different for each School/Program. Please review the Exchange Program Overview. U of T students must first submit exchange application to U of T’s Centre for International Experience, and only nominated students should submit the application documents to Waseda University.
On your exchange application’s “Study Plan” section, clearly indicate which School/Department you would like to pursue and list the courses you are interested in taking. Please make sure that you actually meet the requirements for the specific School/Department you are applying for. Students may also have access to University-wide Open Course (including courses from Waseda University’s Centre for International Education).
Educational Background Requirements:
- – Undergraduate applicants, except for those who apply for SILS, must have completed at least 12 years of school education (excluding higher education/education at university) or equivalent in a country other than Japan. SILS applicants must have completed most of the secondary education (6 years) in a non-Japanese educational system.
- – Graduate applicants must have completed 16 years of school education or equivalent in a country other than Japan.
Credit Equivalency: 31 Credits = 5.0 UofT FCE
