Sorbonne University is a multidisciplinary, research-intensive and world-class academic institution ranked in the top 75 worldwide. Firmly rooted in the heart of Paris, it is committed to the success of its students and devoted to meeting the scientific challenges of the 21st century. Sorbonne University is a public university, which was officially established in 2018 following the amalgamation of Paris-Sorbonne University and Pierre and Marie Curie University though its two parent universities date far older with the Paris Sorbonne going back all the way to 1150 and the university of Paris. Notable alumni include Marie Curie, Simone de Beauvoir, Francois Mitterrand, and Vera Wang. 

There are two tracks at Sorbonne University: Arts & Humanities and Science & Engineering.

On your application to the CIE under the Study Plan section, please indicate which track you are applying for.

Credit Equivalency: 60 ECTS = 5.0 UofT FCE

Language Requirements: Sorbonne Université accepts students with a B2 level of French, however, a C1 level is highly recommended for students who are not studying in a language department. 

For Arts & Humanities, if you are nominated, you will be required to submit a French language level certificate (B2 minimum): Official test such as DALF, DELF, TCF, Alliance Française, OLS results or official language level certificate from a teacher or a French language training institute.  Please indicate on your CIE application which certificate you currently have.
