National Taiwan University (NTU), established in 1928, is Taiwan’s leading public research university and one of the most prestigious institutions in Asia. It comprises 16 colleges, 58 departments, and 146 graduate institutes, as well as 34 Master’s and PhD programs. The university also hosts four major research centers: the Population and Gender Studies Center, the Center for Condensed Matter Sciences, the Center for Biotechnology, and the Bio-diversity Research Center. NTU is known for its significant contributions to research and innovation, and the number of graduate students nearly equals that of undergraduate students, underscoring its status as a major research university .
