Kyoto University is a national university located in Kyoto, Japan. It is the second oldest Japanese university, one of the highest ranked universities in Asia . As one of Asia’s leading research-oriented institutions, Kyoto University is famed for producing world-class researchers, including ten Nobel Prize laureates, two Fields medalists and one Gauss Prize. Students have taken courses here in Life Sciences and Japanese language and culture.

Kyoto University offers two different exchange programs: Kyoto University International Education Program (KUINEP) and General Exchange Program (GE).  On your application, please indicate which program you are applying for under your Study Plan.

If you are selecting the General Exchange Program (GE), indicate your Japanese language proficiency level in your application.
