Aix-Marseille University (AMU) is the largest multidisciplinary university in the French-speaking world, with 80,000 students. It has 5 major campuses and a presence in 9 different cities. Though its current iteration is one of the youngest universities in France, the Aix-Marseille university dates back to the 1400’s. It offers a large variety of quality education in all fields of study. Awarded the Initiative of Excellence label (Idex) in 2016, AMU is an intensive research university joining the ranks of prestigious universities worldwide. Notable alumni include Émile Eddé, Gaston Defferre, Adolphe Thiers, and Pravind Jugnauth.
