What are the specific skills that you learned or developed?
Time management: it was important to be on time to do group activities.
Planning: we got to plan a day on our own in Paris and I was in charge of organizing our route and activities.
Personal Skills: you must quickly adapt to a new culture and a new group of people in order to make the best of your experience
Please, name 2 challenges that you faced and how you overcame them in your experience.
Fatigue: it was difficult to overcome jet lag. There were many times I had to remind myself that I need to stay present in the moment and not focus on how tired I am in order to enjoy my time abroad. Focus: it was important to remain focused on the educational purpose of the trip. I had to remind myself to not get distracted too much by the thrill of being in London and Paris, in order to learn as much as I could with my faculty member.
Would you recommend learning abroad to a friend? Why?
Yes, I will cherish my time in London and Paris with this group because we made invaluable memories together. Everyday was extraordinary and an experience you could never find in Canada. I am so lucky to have traveled with such an amazing group of people, especially the faculty and staff member who took care of all of us, and shared their wealth of knowledge.
