What are the specific skills that you learned or developed?
Time management: it was important to be on time to do group activities.
Planning: we got to plan a day on our own in Paris and I was in charge of organizing our route and activities.
Personal Skills: you must quickly adapt to a new culture and a new group of people in order to make the best of your experience
I am so lucky to have traveled with such an amazing group of people, especially the faculty and staff member who took care of all of us, and shared their wealth of knowledge.
Please, name 2 challenges that you faced and how you overcame them in your experience.
Fatigue: it was difficult to overcome jet lag. There were many times I had to remind myself that I need to stay present in the moment and not focus on how tired I am in order to enjoy my time abroad. Focus: it was important to remain focused on the educational purpose of the trip. I had to remind myself to not get distracted too much by the thrill of being in London and Paris, in order to learn as much as I could with my faculty member.
Would you recommend learning abroad to a friend? Why?
Yes, I will cherish my time in London and Paris with this group because we made invaluable memories together. Everyday was extraordinary and an experience you could never find in Canada. I am so lucky to have traveled with such an amazing group of people, especially the faculty and staff member who took care of all of us, and shared their wealth of knowledge.
