Summer School Exchange: Chinese University of Hong Kong CUHK International Summer School

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a leading comprehensive research university. CUHK International Summer School will give students an opportunity to spend the summer surrounded by other international students, learning in and exploring Hong Kong. Available summer courses include business & management, China studies, Chinese language (Cantonese and Putonghua), environment, science & technology, and society & human interaction.

Credit equivalency: 3 CUHK credits = 0.5 UofT FCE. Students can complete 3 or 6 CUHK credits (0.5 or 1.0 UofT FCE).

How to apply (Exchange): UofT students can apply through CIE Learning Abroad to participate in this program as exchange students.  Exchange students will pay U of T tuition (equivalent to taking 0.5 or 1.0 FCE course at UofT), and tuition fee at CUHK ISS will be waived.  Exchange students must have their courses pre-assessed for transfer credit before their departure.  Click on Learn More button below to apply.  On your application, please indicate which course(s) you intend on taking at CUHK. How to apply (Non-Exchange): Students can choose to apply to the CUHK ISS independently and pay tuition fee directly to the host institution.  After completing the program, credits earned as a Non-Exchange student may be considered for Post-Admission Transfer Credits, but transfer credit is not guaranteed.  You must follow your home faculty’s Post-Admission Transfer Credit procedures. It is your responsibility to consult with your Faculty Registrar’s office regarding transfer credits for independent (non-exchange) summer programs. Post-Admission Transfer Credits are different from transfer credits earned through exchange programs, and there is no guarantee that Post-Admission Transfer Credits can be applied to fulfill your program requirements. There may be fees to apply for a transfer credit assessment. For further information, please contact the Learning Abroad office at
