The University of Stuttgart is situated in the middle of a highly dynamic economic region with a worldwide reputation for excellence in the fields of mobile and information technology, production, process engineering as well as in life sciences. Today the university is a modern, achievement-orientated institution with a comprehensive range of subjects and a focus on technical and physical disciplines.
SUPER (Stuttgart University Program for Experiencing Research) promotes the internationalization of the University of Stuttgart and supports the exchange of scientific information. In addition to doing high quality research, students gain intercultural insights and experience student life different from home.
Participating institutes at the University of Stuttgart offer unique opportunities for full time research projects in a variety of disciplines in engineering and science. The SUPER program lasts between two to three months from June through August, depending on the duration of the research project offered by the hosting institute.

Summer 2026 research projects info will be updated in mid-November on SUPER website, participating research institutes will be similar to Summer 2025. Admissions will be confirmed on a rolling basis, students are encouraged to apply early.
Scholarship opportunities: the University of Stuttgart offers limited number of scholarships to nominated students, students are encouraged to submit their application early in order to receive a scholarship.
There are 2 pathways for this SREP opportunity (please indicate which option you are pursuing in the Program Pathway section of the Learning Abroad application):
1) Not-for-credit (you do not pay U of T tuition or host university tuition)
2) Pre-approved research course: APS299Y0 (engineering, minimum 10 weeks) (1.0 U of T credit)
Eligibility:
- ∗ Applied Science and Engineering: Minimum cGPA 2.5 and 2+ years of study completed;
- ∗ UTSG, UTM and UTSC students: Minimum cGPA 2.5 and 3+ years of study completed.
Housing: Upon request, the host will help to arrange.
Application Process for APS299Y0:
- Submit CIE application by November 23, 2025.
- Applications will be reviewed by the relevant U of T department
- Successful candidates will receive CIE nomination (SREP is a competitive program and nomination is not guaranteed)
- Nominated students submit partner application following the guideline
- Application reviewed by the project supervisor
- Successful candidates will receive admission letter and pre-arrival information from the host university
Application Process for Non-credit:
- Submit CIE application no later than February 15, 2026
- Submit partner application following the partner application guideline (Rolling admissions and students are encouraged to apply early)
- Successful applicants will receive nomination from CIE (nominations are made on a rolling basis, students are encouraged to complete partner application early)
- Application reviewed by the project supervisor
- Accepted students will receive admission letter and pre-arrival information from the host university

- Complete and sign the official application form HERE
- Send application form and supporting documents (cover letter and resume) to host institution’s SUPER Mobility Officer via endrulat-goehler@ia.uni-stuttgart.de
- Applications will be reviewed by the host faculty
- Successful applicants will be nominated by CIE
