Research Projects: view the project details list here, research disciplines include Biochemistry, Pharmacology & Pharmacognosy, Biology, Biophysics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Psychology and Human Movement Science.
Placement duration: placements are either 8 or 12 weeks long and take place between May and August.
Exchange status: accepted summer research students will be enrolled as exchange students at Uni Graz with access to all student services.
Housing: the International Office will provide accepted summer research students with a list of student dorms available for accommodation. Housing prices vary because of the variety of housing options and services included.
Estimated cost of living: Students should budget around EUR €1,000 to €1,200/per month to pay for housing and living expenses. Uni Graz does not provide any scholarships.
Visa: The summer research positions require a visa. Students will have to travel to Ottawa to apply for a visa. Students who have EU citizenship and travel with EU passport do not need a visa.

Application Process for PCL397Y0, CSB397Y0, & HMB394Y0:
- Submit CIE application by November 23, 2025.
- Applications will be reviewed by the relevant U of T department
- Successful candidates will receive CIE nomination (SREP is a competitive program and nomination is not guaranteed)
- Nominated students reach out to interested supervisor following the guideline (please complete this step before December 12)
- Accepted students will receive admission letter and pre-arrival information
Application Process for Non-Credit:
- Review project list and identify an interested project
- Submit CIE application no later than December 5, 2025
- Reach out to interested supervisor to seek approval following the guideline (please complete this step before December 12)
- Students who have obtained supervisor approval upload the proof of approval on CIE application portal (in the Partner Application stage)
- Successful candidates will receive nomination and be invited to complete the partner application
- Accepted students will receive admission letter and pre-arrival information
**Guideline for securing a supervisor:
- Review project list and identify a project & supervisor
- Send your CV, Motivation Letter, and Transcript to the potential supervisor and copy doris.knasar@uni-graz.at (contact info included in the project list)
- Students should reach out to the potential supervisor before December 12 to maximize their chances of being accepted by the supervisor
- Students might be asked for a short online interview by the potential supervisor
- Submit your supervisor approval document(s) to CIE application portal Mobility Online
- Successful applicants will receive next steps instructions from the host university
