Summer Research: Southern University of Science and Technology

Located in the Nanshen district of Shenzhen, SUSTech, is a public university with the vision to excel in interdisciplinary research, to nurture innovative talents and to deliver new knowledge to the world. Comprised of 29 different academic programs, the university takes pride in offering an outstanding faculty trained globally to support academic research that has impact and value to our nation and the world.

Students can participate in research projects in the fields of Engineering, Environmental Science, Anthropology, and Life Science.

 

Credit Equivalency: Instead of getting a transcript from the host university, admitted FAS, UTM, and UTSC students must enroll in an independent Research (or similar) course in the equivalent department at UofT. Engineering students are not eligible for transfer credits.

Housing: Not guaranteed

Funding: Students applying to Southern University of Science and Technology should also apply for Globalink Research Award. Successful GRA applicants will not be considered for $3000 CIE funding and IE Award because the GRA amount is greater of the two.

Submit the project-specific documents as one PDF document by December 6, 2021, except the Recommendation letter(s)If you are interested in more than one project, prepare separate application documents for each project. Nominated students will be asked to upload the recommendation letter(s) directly to the host application portal. The estimated deadline for Recommendation letters is Dec 20th – January 10th. More information on the application steps will be provided to nominated students.
