Seoul National University (SNU)’s International Summer Program (ISP)’s intensive five-week summer program taught by distinguished SNU and visiting faculty members offers its participants the chance to learn in depth from experts on Korea and East Asia, as well as a variety of topics ranging from economics and business management to history, politics, sociology, and arts.
The ISP offers a unique opportunity for students to experience academic life at SNU, Korea’s most prestigious university and one of the leading universities in the world.
ISP 2025 takes place from June 25 – July 25, 2025.
Courses
The SNU ISP offers over 40 courses taught in English. Read more about the courses available here.
Fees
Program fees are paid directly to the host university. The list of fees can be program found here.
SNU is offering a 20% discount to U of T students. Please follow the instructions below to be eligible for the discount.
If you wish to apply for funding through the Centre for International Experience (CIE), you can apply for the needs-based IE+ Award. Please note that the processing time takes up to six weeks. If you are eligible to receive an IE+ Award, your award will only be paid after all Safety Abroad Requirements are completed. You will not receive funds until you arrive at the site of your program.
Post-Admission Transfer Credits
This is an independent (non-exchange) learning experience. You may apply directly to the program, and there is no nomination process through the Centre for International Experience. Read more about the independent summer programs (Non-Exchange Opportunities > Summer Experiences).
To qualify for and receive academic credits from this program, you must follow your home faculty’s Post-Admission Transfer Credit procedures. It is your responsibility to consult with your Faculty Registrar’s office regarding transfer credits for independent (non-exchange) summer programs. Post-Admission Transfer Credits are different from transfer credits earned through exchange programs, and there is no guarantee that Post-Admission Transfer Credits can be applied to fulfill your program requirements. Courses graded on a pass/fail or equivalent basis will not be eligible for transfer credit.
You may wish to check Transfer Explorer for previously assessed courses, making note of transfer credit weight, as well.
For language courses taken at an accredited university outside of Canada, they need to be offered as part of their own degree program and should appear on an official transcript (not on a separate certificate or customized document).
There may be fees to apply for a transfer credit assessment. The request for Post-Admission Transfer Credit can only be submitted after completing the course(s). Once you have completed your summer program, ensure that an official transcript is sent directly from the host institution to your U of T Faculty’s Transfer Credit Office, and not to the Centre for International Experience.
Alternatively, you can undertake this opportunity and choose not to request any transfer credit.
